ElaadNL: webinar #75 The benefits of net-aware charging at home

The benefits of net-aware charging at home
Network operators Enexis and Liander, together with charging providers ANWB, Vattenfall and Eneco eMobility, conducted a pilot 'Net-aware home charging'. In the pilot, which ran from October 2024 to February 2025, the organisations worked together to gain insight into what is needed to charge the car outside peak hours in a customer-friendly way.
In the pilot, consumers were encouraged to coordinate the charging of the car at home with the available space on the local power grid. This was to make better use of the grid and stay within its limits. In the trial, consumers were more profitable if they adjusted their charging behaviour. Did they do so and what was the benefit to the power grid?

Net-conscious Charging

Blog:
Where is charged (net-consciously) at home
Recently, grid operators Liander and Enexis and charging providers ANWB, Vattenfall and Eneco eMobility announced the results of a trial of grid-aware home charging. Their conclusion: 'Charging the car at home outside rush hour gives 68% more space on the grid'.
It prompted colleague Nazir Refa of ElaadNL data team, who also contributed to the project, to delve a little deeper into the topic of 'home charging'. He wrote an illuminating blog about it on our website.
