Description

After the annual meeting, Liander will give two lectures on 'Smart Grids'; in the early evening, a tour of the operations centre will follow - this will be subject to a limitation on the number of participants.

Liander, formerly Continuon Netbeheer, as the largest grid operator in the Netherlands, has been working on smart grids for years. Important objectives here are to further improve the reliability, affordability and sustainability of the energy supply. Due to the long lifetime of electricity grids, it is not always easy to keep these goals in balance. With the expected rise of electric cars, micro CHPs and solar panels, this will only become more difficult in the future. The solution in the future will not so much be in more cables but in smarter balancing of local load and generation. An introductory presentation will explain how such smart grids work and how smart meters, electric cars and micro CHPs fit into them. It will then be shown how this works in practice. Depending on interest, there will then be room for further discussion or a visit to Liander's operations centre.

Registration via the website before 10 March. When registering, please indicate whether you want to take part in the guided tour.

After registration, you will be sent the agenda and other meeting documents.
