Review ElaadNL Webtalk #39 What role do electric cars play in local communities?
ElaadNL investigates smart and sustainable charging of electric vehicles: from passenger cars to electric motorbikes, buses and trucks.
Smart charging or Smart Charging is controlling the timing and speed of electric vehicle charging with deployment of technology. With this, you can simply plug in, but tailor the charging to, for example, the availability of sustainable power, lower prices and optimal use of the power grid in the neighbourhood. For example, your car will then charge faster if there is a lot of power available from the solar panels on your roof, or wait a while before starting charging until the peak on the grid is over and prices are lower.
Webinar
What does the future look like as we increasingly generate and consume our energy locally, and perhaps even make neighbourhoods (partially) independent of the grid? What are the technical and economic challenges and what role does EV play in this?
