In Vianen, the Dutch EMC-ESD Association met again for the EMC-ESD event. Despite the corona troubles, more than a hundred visitors came to Hotel van der Valk Vianen. The exhibition floor, conference programme and demo area were highly appreciated by the attendees.

Theo Smedes (NXP Semiconductors) opened the day with a talk on the Industry Council on ESD Target Levels. This council has been in existence for 15 years and Smedes gave an overview of developments and a glimpse into the future during his talk.

The second keynote came from Vincent Tilgenkamp. He talked about the electromagnetic interference that can occur during major events, such as the Eurovision Song festival.

During the plenary programme, speakers included Patrick Dijkstra (Raditeq, on behalf of C.N. Rood). He talked about how a CI system works and what the consequences can be if a product is not properly tested for the CI/EMC aspect. Joost van Heijenoort (AR Benelux) gave a talk on measurement receivers. These were also on display at the demo area where various live demonstrations were held by the exhibitors. Lex van Huuksloot (Telerex) talked about the usefulness of absorbers, while Christian Reimer (Rohde & Schwarz) discussed EMI.

The event was concluded by Ernst Schrama from TU Delft. He spoke about the interference disturbances that can occur with PV installations and related high-frequency sources. Schrama outlined that there are good opportunities to significantly improve reception on the HF bands.

The EMC-ESD meeting was another success. The next edition is coming up again in 2023. Stay tuned!

Welcome to the Dutch EMC-ESD Association

The Dutch EMC-ESD Association is an association of about 150 professionals in the field of EMC and/or ESD. The association has a wide range of members who have in common that they are professionally involved in the field within their company, institution or organisation. This may be as an expert, or intermediary of information, or as a supplier or user of information, services or products and materials.

Until 2016, the Dutch EMC-ESD Association organised the Practice Day. In the odd-numbered years, specific days were also organised in recent years, such as the EMC Day for installers and various ESD sessions. Starting in 2018, the association chose to organise a large joint event, the first edition of which proved a great success. On 23 November 2021, the forces of both EMC, and ESD will once again join forces for the third EMC-ESD Event.

On this day, the exhibitors will offer an interesting lecture programme with specific themes.

In the technical lecture programme, the exhibitors and plenary speakers from TU Delft and Sennheiser will take you through the latest developments in the field of:
- Power electronics / EMC in installations
- Electronics design and EMC/ESD in devices
- EMC-ESD test & measurement
- Tools for standards and regulations

There will also be several 'LIVE' EMC and ESD demonstrations at the demo area.
