Homelab2050-4 Use Energy Sources
Description
"The houses that will be built now and in the near future will still be there in 2050. Will they meet the requirements and wishes of 2050? Are we taking into account important issues of the future?".
In a series of meetings, we want to address this question systematically. In the extensive series of EU2050Powerlab (www.kivi.nl/eu2050powerlab), we have seen what the energy supply of houses will look like in the future and what the required energy demand will be.
But apart from the energy demand, many other issues are important such as a healthy indoor climate in the house and a house that is easy to operate and maintain.
The second meeting discussed the energy balance and looked at feasible solutions for 2050.
The third meeting of the Homelab2050 programme addressed the living environment.
This fourth meeting's theme is "optimal use of available energy sources".
There are several energy sources around the home that can be harnessed. Some sources can already be put to good use. Other sources are much more difficult to convert into usable energy or heat. It is also not trivial to use all available energy optimally. It is expected that in the future, energy sources can be used more optimally. The utilisation of these energy sources can be done at home level but also at district level. One of the hard-to-utilise energy sources is heat in summer (to heat in winter) and coolness in winter (to cool in summer).
We also often destroy usable energy without immediately realising it. This also needs to be better in the future.
In this fourth meeting, we will explore the opportunities and challenges for in the future.
