On Tuesday 4 November 2015, Hans Duiker of Zonneflex explained the principle and operation of PV solar panels.

In an interactive way, he explained to the 80 people present the principle of the method to obtain the optimal arrangement of PV (PhotoVoltalic) solar panels, both with regard to the location and existing roof data as well as a favourable angle of solar irradiation. To obtain the maximum yield in generated electrical energy, the paremeters were discussed, such as the efficiency of the various types of PV panels, the (high) efficiency of the inverters despite the widely varying input voltage, as well as environmental factors. In addition, the principle operation of the composite PV solar panels to obtain the maximum electrical power output (W) under all conditions, based on Tracking, i.e. with central control and control by chips (ICs) in each PV cell, was discussed. Conventional PV solar panels are built from cells with dimensions 0.12 by 0.12 m, The so-called CIS panels have cells smaller than 0.001 - 0.001 m. If a cell of a conventional PV solar panel fails or is shadowed, this immediately causes one of the three strips to stop producing power. In CIS panels with the very small cells, only "dots" fail or the contribution of a corner drops out if it is shaded by an obstacle.

At the end of the presentation, attendees were given the opportunity to sign up for an advantageous offer for solar panels on their homes and housing complexes.

Please remember the following:

The Hague has neighbourhoods with the designation of national protected townscape. Several neighbourhood residents have reported that they have installed solar panels at the instigation of the municipality without having first obtained planning permission. The building inspectorate subsequently rejected the installation of panels and no permit was eventually granted. These residents have been seriously duped: they have to remove the panels and restore their roofs to their old state. An objection procedure is currently pending, the outcome of which must be awaited.
It is therefore wise for any potential buyer to check whether they need prior planning permission.

PV technical information solar panels

PV inverters Maximum Power Point Tracking

Solar panels don't have to be ugly, Solar panels need to be better integrated aesthetically and functionally into homes and buildings. Only then will the large-scale adoption of solar power really take off. The thin-film solar cell is just the thing for this.

Description

Solar panels: you hear about them more and more, and rightly so: the benefits are numerous.

The best way to make an actual contribution to the household budget and to the environment is to take care of (part of) your energy needs yourself.

Tonight, Hans Duiker of Zonneflex will present his experiences of the past 2.5 years, in which he helps households become energy-neutral and self-sufficient.

With his background as an electrical engineer, he can give professionals relevant information like no other, without the sales pitches.

This lecture goes deeper into the technical operation of the various components than a lecture for consumers: The electricity grid, the inverter and the panels themselves, how are they constructed? How do they interact?

Also, examples are given on the costs and payback periods worked out and technical backgrounds explained.

Of course, there is ample opportunity to ask questions following this presentation or other burning questions on this topic.

The primary benefits of solar panels are obvious and have been described many times, the secondary benefits a lot less. This lecture looks at the secondary conditions for both flat and pitched roofs and energy storage options. These are explained in detail. Examples are also given of the costs and payback periods worked out and technical backgrounds explained.

After the presentation, networking while enjoying a drink.

This presentation will be repeated later in other regions in the Netherlands.
