Retrospective IT Infra event
Like many other FHI events, this year's IT Infra event was organised in the form of an online knowledge week. Experts talked for three days about the latest developments and technology in the data centre market. This again provided the 450 spectators with a lot of useful information.

During his talk, Bilal Sarfraz, ABB, addressed predictive maintenance, a strongly emerging way of maintenance that uses sensing and analytics to choose an optimised time for maintenance activities. In short, as Sarfraz called it: off-the-books maintenance management that can provide data centres with a substantial cost reduction. |

There was also a focus on the topic of sustainability. For instance, Roel van de Pas (Nedstack) and Max Aerts (DENS) discussed the possibilities of clean fuel cells. Because hydrogen, among other green energy sources, offers new opportunities for further greening data centres. |

Bart Nieuwenhuis & Ronald van Veen (Vertiv) talked about how prefab and modular growth scenarios can help data centres add extra capacity quickly. But certification is also important, especially in the field of cyber security. |
|
Willy Leuvering, whom we interviewed earlier, spoke on behalf of ISA about securing data centre infrastructure according to ISA/IEC 62443 standards.Add text to your e-mail. |

Finally, and almost inevitably in this day and age, the corona pandemic was also discussed. A panel discussion discussed the impact of COVID-19 on the data centre industry. The hope is that next year's IT Infra Event can take place in different circumstances. |
