Description

The Royal Navy "a top technology company".

Defence, commissioned by politicians and NATO, contributes worldwide to a safer world and protecting the economic interests of our society. This requires an organisation with a high degree of deployability and professionalism. To this end, defence has professional command and technologically high-quality equipment. Innovation and state-of-the-art technology are essential to make the required contributions.

The Naval Company is part of the Royal Netherlands Navy Command (CZSK) and responsible for the material readiness of its ships and maritime weapon systems. In short, the Naval Company is responsible for maintaining and modernising the Dutch fleet. We also play a role in translating future operational needs into practical solutions, conduct technology research and development, support the acquisition of systems and ensure the proper disposal of ships.

During the excursion to the Naval Maintenance Company, you will be informed in detail about the various activities of the Naval Maintenance Company. A presentation will tell you how modern electronics and technological trends have led to the choice of sensor, weapon and communication systems on current Royal Navy ships.

A tour of the company will give you an idea of how high technology is integrated into the development and maintenance of the ships.

To build an optimal operational picture in maritime operations, Royal Navy ships have state-of-the-art sensor, weapon and communication systems. A good example is the Integrated Modular Mast (IMM mast) of the Patrol Ships. This mast was developed and built in close cooperation with, among others, Thales Netherlands. Technological developments and trends were brought together in it to translate the operational needs of the Navy into the current product.
