Network company Alliander Duiven and ALV
After the opening of the meeting by Mr ing. Richard van Heijningen Vz KIVI-Elektrotechniek, those present were welcomed by Mr Ir W.J. (William) van Niekerk Director Liandon.
Who gave insight into the rapidly changing world of network companies and how Alliander/Liandon stands in it.
With the lecture by Mr Prof Mart van der Meijden TU Delft Large-scale sustainable power systems, innovation manager Tennet gave a preview of a future reliable energy supply with the "North Sea Infrastructure" concept with the following abstract:.
"In Europe, the North Sea has the best potential for large-scale development of offshore wind. The following paper (see link) describes a compelling view on a future North Sea Infrastructure.
The proposed North Sea Infrastructure is based on the development of multi-national offshore interconnectors in combination with an island in shallow waters. Because the island can be constructed in stages it will enhance optimal planning of the system rollout."

This was followed by a tour of the low-energy office building with an explanation of the sustainable design with energy-saving measures and low-energy applications. The photo shows one of the three groups that were shown around.
A number of original buildings have been brought together under a new roof. Some roofs are covered with pallet wood and one is lined with planters.
Staircases and coffee corners and meeting spaces have been created between the buildings.
The roof contains skylights made of cloth, whose supporting structure was designed and made by a roller coaster manufacturer. It knows how to construct a light (weight) yet strong roof. The roof construction is therefore light and fragile.
It also houses several laboratories and a maintenance room for large transformers.
The building as a whole is designed and equipped for the new way of working.
Outside the building, the shelters above the car parks are fitted with solar panels with two small wind turbines, these do not generate enough energy to provide for their own use. Regulations did not allow larger windmills.
After a dressed-up sandwich meal, the KIVI Elektrotechiek section ALV was held.
A report of this will be drawn up separately.
The visit to Alliander concluded with a presentation on a modern network company in the future by Mr Maarten van Riet Energy consultant at Alliander.
With his presentation "The Electricity Network of Tomorrow", he gave insight into the rapid developments and possibilities to better coordinate fluctuations in supply and demand of electricity.
New developments with IoT are quickly embraced in this regard, otherwise the network company will incur unnecessary costs.
You will get more information from the KIVI programme EnergyNL2050 and the follow-up meetings with practical interpretations.
Description
The KIVI Electrical Engineering Section invites members to the 2017 Annual Meeting, which will be held at Alliander in Duiven on Tuesday, 4 April 2016.
The agenda will include the usual items, such as secretarial and financial report for 2016, board composition and appointment, activities undertaken 2015 and planned activities for 2017.
Further details will be given on the progress of the Policy Development 2020 (BO2020) project for the Electrical Engineering Department.
The agenda and related papers will be mailed to registered members.
In addition to the General Meeting of Members, there are a number of interesting presentations and lectures, linked to advanced technology in the engineering, maintenance and control of the modern network company Alliander.
In which much attention will be paid to innovation, consultancy and social impact around the regulated network company.
This will be followed by a tour of the beautifully renovated, energy-efficient and sustainable building, which houses Alliander in Duiven.
There will be ample opportunity for networking.
