Prysmian is a leading player in the development, manufacture and supply of a wide range of high-quality cables for application in the power distribution and telecommunications industries. In addition, Prysmian manufactures and supplies related network components and accessories. Prysmian in the Netherlands
In the Netherlands, most electrical engineers who work (have worked) in the "high-current" industry will know Prysmian Cables and systems as NKF Delft. The time-honoured famous cable factory with an excellent reputation. Between 1998 and 2001, Pirelli Cavi a Sistemi took over the cable business from Siemens, BICC and Metal Manufacturers Ltd but also the two NKF factories. Subsequently, in 2005, the Pirelli group's cable business was merged into a new company "Prysmian Cables and Systems". A new leading world player in high-quality cables and systems for power distribution and telecommunications was thus created.
About 250 employees work at Prysmian Cables and Systems B.V. in Delft, working on part of the range of cables and accessories that Prysmian has to offer. The main speciality of the Delft plant is the design and manufacture of cables and accessories for power distribution in the 450V to 400kV range.
Prysmian Cables and Systems B.V. in Delft is also the supplier for the Netherlands of the complete, very comprehensive range of energy and telecom cables, associated components and the extensive service package.
