Description

At the New Year meeting of the Electrical Engineering Department, 2011 was declared the "Year of the Smart Grid". Not only are the technologies within 'Smart Grids' interesting, they can also serve us for lower energy consumption. Renewable energy, energy savings and electric transport place demands on grids, which are currently being considered and experimented with. The consumer can be given a different, more active role in this. Will this role be understood, or will reactions lead to these developments becoming politically stranded?

This symposium will be held as the first of the two meetings mentioned in this.

Developments requesting transport capacity and congestion management.

16.40 Martijn Bongaerts, Alliander; on behalf of Netbeheer Nederland: Changes in the function of medium- and low-voltage grids; how do "Smart Grids" interact with this? Information needs of the systems, and communication between consumers and the grid operator. Economic aspects of Smart Grids.
