Description

Preceding the lecture will be the ALV

The presentation is promising and extremely interesting and is entitled:
"The how and why of Concentrated Solar Power"
This will include an explanation of:
- principle CSP plants
- availability of this form of energy
- storage possibilities and transport of the energy via HVDC
- political developments
- strengths and weaknesses of this form of energy
- geographical obstacles
- additional useful consequences

The Association for Solar Power Plants

As an association, we promote the DESERTEC concept. This involves harvesting renewable energy where it is most obvious. By linking all that renewable energy in Europe and that in turn to the deserts in and outside Europe, you get a stable and cheap system. We are therefore happy to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge around Solar Power Plants and Concentrated Solar Power in particular. Furthermore, the association tries to interest politicians and policymakers in supporting the development and application of CSP and seeks International cooperation with foreign organisations in the field of CSP to join forces.
Solar energy and especially CSP is abundant and easy to harvest and is the most sustainable energy in the world. There are no residual products af other harmful side effects, on the contrary with the residual heat from the plants, clean (drinking) water can be made from dirty or even seawater. The problem of storage is also not an issue with this power generation, or rather solved
