DC Foundation: Expert interview Structure AC-/DC networks
The Netherlands Direct Current Foundation
Electrification is one of the main challenges facing society today. Our modern world demands more and more from traditional electricity networks and infrastructure.
An energy transition is needed. And direct current (DC) is an essential part of this transition. From the humble USB-C connector to green energy production on a national scale, DC offers help for modern energy challenges.
Stichting Gelijkspanning Nederland is committed to DC as an integral component of a new, sustainable world: providing better energy management, clean production and smarter consumption.
Webinar Friday 13 November 15:00 structure AC/DC networks
At 15:00, Ronald and Henry will discuss DC networks with Giel van den Broeck of DCINERGY and Laurens Mackay of DC Opportunities R&D.
Our current AC networks are mainly 3-phase and radial (star-shaped) operated. To a lesser extent, annular or meshed. How do we do it with DC?
Topics that will be covered include: bi-polar grids, meshing of DC grids and whether we can distinguish between grids at micro (in a neighbourhood/industrial estate) level and at macro (in a home or business premises) level.
