Prof.dr.ir. Bart Smolders (50) will succeed Prof.dr.ir Ton Backx as dean on 1 January 2016. TU Eindhoven has appointed Prof.dr.ir. Bart Smolders as dean of Electrical Engineering of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering from 1 January 2016. He succeeds Prof.dr.ir.Ton Backx, who will become general director of the Institute for Integrated Nano Photonics to be established. Smolders comes from within its own ranks.
TU Eindhoven has appointed Bart Smolders as dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering from 1 January 2016. He succeeds Ton Backx, who will become general director of the Institute for Integrated Nano Photonics to be established. Smolders comes from his own ranks. He studied and obtained his PhD at Electrical Engineering and is currently professor of electromagnetism in wireless telecommunications and programme director of the faculty. In the past, he worked, among others, at Thales and Astron and from 2000 to 2009 as rf innovation manager at NXP in Nijmegen.
