Description

For interested parties: Registration is now open for the 5th Energyday "Energy storage, fuels and transport" on Thursday 4 October 2012.

The Energydays will be held at De Zwarte Doos, TU/e, within walking distance of Eindhoven railway station.
With the support of the TU/e Executive Board, a new series of 8 Energydays will be organised in the academic years 2011-2013. This new series follows an earlier series of 10 days held in 2008-2010. Again, the aim is to develop a broad picture, with each of the eight Energydays featuring a discussion by different speakers on a sub-aspect of the energy and climate problem.

The series is mainly intended to give students, PhD students, PDEng students and postdocs a detailed impression of the status in this field. It is especially also intended for those, who are working on a topic other than energy. The series is also open to other interested parties.

The first four days on the topics "Energy use and availability in a developing world", "Climate development and the urgency of change", "Energy from the sun, the new path?" and "Nuclear energy: fission and fusion" took place on 6 October, 1 December 2011, 8 March, and 31 May 2012. Programmes with content can be found on the website www.tue.nl/energydays. There, the first series can also be found under series 2008-2010. The days are held in the Black Box at TU/e, within walking distance of Eindhoven railway station. The 5th day and the 6th day will be held on 4 October and 29 November 2012.

There is a possibility to follow the series as an elective part of the education programme. The series is formally included as a subject in the programme as "3PM10". Credits require taking the course for at least four Energydays and writing a thesis. Students, PhD students and PDEng students wishing to take advantage of this opportunity should register as such as soon as possible. If accepted, the costs of registration will be borne by the Energydays organisation.

Interested parties are requested to register on the website
http://web.phys.tue.nl/en/energydays
There, one can also indicate whether one wants to make use of the possibility to follow the series as a subject 3PM10.
Requests, or comments can be addressed to Energydays@tue.nl.
