Green Team Twente
Description
Green Team Twente wins at Shell Eco-marathon with the most fuel-efficient car in its standings !!!
Last weekend, Green Team Twente, consisting of eleven UT mechanical engineering students, won the Shell Eco-marathon Europe in Rotterdam in its standings. The team from Twente managed to build a car that can drive 727.5 kilometres on one litre of petrol in conversion.
The race consisted of ten laps of 1.6 kilometres. The goal in this case was not to drive as fast as possible, but to drive as economically as possible. The mechanical engineering students of Green Team Twente succeeded exceptionally well. They raced a self-built hydrogen-powered car in the UrbanConcept classification, in which the cars must, to a certain extent, resemble an average passenger car. Green Team Twente's car won the race in its classification. The car was found to drive 75 km/kWh, or 727.5 kilometres with 1 litre of petrol. The Twente team keeps a cup and a cheque for 1,500 euros from the race.
Green Team Twente consists of 11 students from the mechanical engineering course.
On Wednesday 30 May, the team will talk about their experiences and, of course, the car will be on display
