Foundation Day 2012
Description
On Wednesday 3 October next, we will organise the biannual Foundations Day at the Reehorst in Ede.
This time, Betonvereniging, CUR B&I, KIVI NIRIA Geotechniek and NVAF will jointly organise this Foundations Day.
In an increasingly complicated society, construction has to take place under increasingly complicated conditions. The call on the specific knowledge, creativity and inventiveness of structural engineers, geotechnical consultants and foundation contractors is increasing. Cooperation and daring to take on challenges are becoming increasingly important.
This calls for deploying and combining all available knowledge and experience and expanding it. Whether one comes from the other or vice versa is not clear.
Yet we also see a possible growing apart between consultant and builder and between science and application. The practice of foundations is often more unruly than it appears on the drawing board (or during modelling). Hence the theme of the day: foundations in practice.
