What is the Aanpak Ring Zuid plan?
Together, the municipality, the province and the national government have drawn up a plan for the conversion of the southern ring road. That plan is called "Approach Ring South". The plan ensures that traffic flows more smoothly and that all destinations in the city become more accessible. The road will fit in better with its surroundings. This improves liveability. The road will also be safer.
The project includes a number of geotechnically challenging engineering works, about which more will be told this afternoon. There will also be a walk along interesting project locations.
This will be followed by a visit to Wiertsema & Partners' geotechnical lab where a guided tour will be given. (This by own transport from work in Groningen to Wierstema & Partners at Feithspark 6 in Tolbert about 15 min drive, we hope that participants who come by public transport can ride along with participants who come by car)
