Description

On Wednesday 10 April 2013, DFI (Deep Foundations Institute),
KIVI NIRIA and the NVAF (Nederlandse Vereniging Aannemers Funderingswerken)
will organise a lecture afternoon on sustainability in foundations. The subject is very topical to meet the
sustainability requirements of ProRail and Rijkswaterstaat (CO2 performance ladder), among others.
In 2012, a so-called 'Carbon Calculator'
was developed by DFI and EFFC (European Foundation Contractors). This allows CO2 emissions to be calculated for around 15 foundation systems. The Carbon
Calculator is now ready for 6 pile systems, including the precast concrete pile, the auger pile and
the bored pile. This Carbon Calculator will be explained during the seminar and a number of
calculation examples will be given.
Day chairman
ir. W.J. (William) van Niekerk, former chairman KIVI NIRIA Department of Geotechnics.
