DFI Europe, in cooperation with the Testing and Evaluation Committee of the Deep Foundations Institute from the US, is organising a one-day international symposium on all existing and innovative methods for testing the integrity of foundation piles. This will cover the detection of, for example, cracks in precast concrete piles in the ground or deviations in the diameter of the concrete shaft of a pile formed in the ground.

The programme covers the following topics:

  • What can one expect from integrity testing and how to use the results? (Prof. Rolf Katzenbach)
  • Five presentations of existing and new methods of integrity testing, including thermal and sonar methods and testing of existing foundations international experts.
  • Panel discussion led by Prof. Alain Holeyman
  • Conclusions by Gerard Verbeek, Chair DFI Testing and Evaluation Committee (USA)

The symposium will take place on Thursday 12 September 2019 at the Excavation Centre for Road Construction (located 6 km from Brussels airport). This is an excellent opportunity to meet clients, scientists, suppliers and users and exchange experiences. Presentations will be given in English.

There is the possibility to submit questions for the speakers and the panel discussion in advance. For sponsorship of the symposium or for a stand in the exhibition area, please contact Monika De Vos, secretary of DFI Europe at office@dfi-europe.org.
