Foundations 2008 offers a cross-section of current developments in this industry, from regulations to handy digital applications.

The afternoon starts with the Eurocodes. Then it focuses on technology: pile plate foundations are on the rise. What advantages does this technique offer and what are the experiences so far? Participants will then be given a demonstration of the possibilities of GeoBrain.

The rest of the afternoon will be devoted to a number of fascinating presentations on practice. A unique construction at the interface of architecture and civil engineering was realised at the expansion of gin distillery Nolet in Schiedam. A literal highlight will be the Maastoren, which when completed will be the tallest residential building in
Netherlands. The foundation is equally special.
