A stable and durable foundation is the basis of any civil engineering work. Innovative foundation solutions and implementation methods will take centre stage during Geotechnical Day 2025. The experts below share their insights from recent practical studies.

Robbert Melis (URETEK Benelux)
With his construction background and years of experience in technical consultancy, Robbert combines innovation with practical applicability.

In his presentation 'Test loads on weak loam soil improved with expansion resin', he discusses the results of test loads in calcareous loam soil. The tests show that injections with expansion resin can significantly reduce settlements and greatly increase bearing capacity.

Lennart Stelling (Witteveen+Bos)
Lennart, a graduate of TU Delft in Geotechnical Engineering, and his team are investigating the performance of existing foundation systems.

In his presentation 'Test loads on 57-year-old tension piles', he presents the results of recent tension tests in the port of Rotterdam, which provide valuable insights into the geotechnical holding power of existing structures.
