The NGO Nederlandse Geotextiel Organisatie is organising an excursion on Thursday 25 September at 2 p.m. to one of the biggest infrastructural construction projects at the moment: the widening of the A10 Zuid and the work at the De Nieuwe Meer interchange.
The A10 Zuid is being widened from four to six lanes, with far-reaching consequences for the interchange. Fourteen existing viaducts will be modified, new viaducts will be built and noise barriers will be erected. Due to space constraints, this will make extensive use of reinforced soil structures, a chance to take a closer look at these techniques.
