General membership meeting KIVI History of Engineering section

The board of the History of Technology Section invites you to attend the annual general meeting of members to be held on 17 May next at 10:00 am in the Science Centre of TU Delft, prior to the lecture that Saturday morning.

- 2 Documents received and sent The board was pleasantly surprised by the fact that our board members Ton Boele and Hans Stoutjesdijk had been appointed KIVI members of merit in the past year.

- 5 Board composition and (re)appointments appendix 3 Travel commissioner Ton Boele, our travel commissioner, has organised and accompanied many trips superbly, however, he has indicated that, partly due to his age, he wishes to resign this position but will continue as a board member. The board proposes to appoint him as such. The board is pleased to propose appointing Han Heijmans in his place as travel commissioner on the board. Han is a long-time active member of our department. Programme Commissioner Joost Albers, the programme commissioner retires by rule but has made himself available for re-election. The board stlet to re-appoint him Treasurer Hans Stoutjesdijk, our treasurer has indicated his wish to step down in some time. If any members are willing to take on this important task, they can contact the secretary. Chairman and Secretary Mr Frank van den Berg and Mr Ton de Liefde are due to retire as chairman and secretary of the section respectively. Both have offered themselves for reappointment. The board proposes to reappoint them. Page 2 agenda ALV 17 May 2025 Any opposing candidates for the above appointments, accompanied by a motivation, can report to the secretary until 10 May. The History of Technology Foundation (SHT)occupies a quality seat on the board. SHT is still considering how to fill this seat after Mr Berkers' retirement. The amended mutation schedule of board members is enclosed which assumes that the proposals for (re)appointment will all be adopted.

- 8 Willem Wolff Award The procedure for the Willem Wolff Award was slightly modified. Interested museums are asked to provide a short description of the project they wish to submit. This is the long list. From the submitted projects, the jury chooses the three most likely to win the prize and asks the entrants of these to submit a somewhat more detailed description. This establishes the shortlist from which the jury chooses the prize winner.
- 9 Activities The nominations will now definitely be held on Saturdays at the new Science Centre at van der Burghweg 2. The department is grateful for the Science Centre's cooperation in this regard. This year the short excursion will go to Liege and its surroundings. This already fully booked excursion is scheduled for 22 and 23 May 2025 .
