Dear members of the KIVI Department of the History of Engineering,

At the request of the Circle of Historical Computing Instruments, we would like to draw your attention to the following.

In the history of engineering, you have undoubtedly come across slide rules made specifically for your field. These slide rules can be considered a solidified expression of the knowledge of the time.
For 25 years, the Kring Historische Rekeninstrumenten has focused on collecting and describing historical calculating instruments, such as slide rules and mechanical calculators.

On 20, 21 and 22 September 2019, the Kring will organise the 25áµ "International Meeting of Collectors of Historical Calculating Instruments" (IM2019 for short) in The Hague. This conference will feature lectures and historical calculating instruments exhibited and discussed by collectors from all over the world. This requires knowledge in specific fields and often leads to surprising insights into old methods of various fields of work.

More information about activities of the Circle in general about those of the IM2019 in particular can be found on the website www.rekeninstrumenten.nl

Sincerely yours,
