Summary of lecture :

TU Delft Science Centre is the successor of first the Technisch Tentoonstellingscentrum (TTC) and later the Techniek Museum Delft (TMD). The TTC was founded in 1976 by a group of engineers who thought technology education was important for a wider audience.

On 1 September 2010, Science Centre Delft opened its doors as the TMD's successor in the former Faculty of Mining in the Mijnbouwstraat. The brief was: create an interactive presentation where TU Delft's activities take centre stage, involve students and researchers, and importantly, support primary education with science & technology education.

By 2021, the Science Centre will have moved to its current location more centrally on the TU Campus. The presentation will discuss the plans for the new Science Centre: what will the building look like, what will the new programmes look like? And what is all this art doing in the exhibition? During the second half of the presentation, everyone has to actively get involved, so they can actively learn about Science Centre on Tour one of the Science Centre's new programmes.
