Willem Wolff Award ceremony 4 November

Every year, the History of Engineering Section of KIVI awards a prize to a special museum. The Willem Wolff Prize 2024 was awarded to the National Flax and Sugar Museum in Klundert specifically for its work on an impressive model of a sugar factory. This set-up is also good preparation for the afternoon's visit.

The award ceremony will take place on Monday 4 November. As is now customary, a day programme has been drawn up in which members of KIVI and Histechnica can participate.

At the museum, we will have a guided tour and enjoy lunch after the award ceremony. Early in the afternoon, we move to the sugar factory in nearby Dinteloord. This is the only large sugar factory in the Netherlands. Every year, during the sugar beet campaign of more than three months, the factory is in full operation. There, we will take a look at the production process. The very comprehensive tour is specially designed for us technically interested people.
