Lustrum celebration Oil and Gas Technology
Description
The Division of Oil and Gas Technology of the Royal Institute of Engineers KIVI NIRIA cordially invites you to the celebration of its 75th anniversary.
On 21 August 1936, the Division of Petroleum Engineering, later called Oil and Gas Technology, was established. The occasion was the conference of the "Institution of Petroleum Technologists" held in The Hague in May that year. The Section saw one of its main tasks as "representing Dutch engineers abroad at conferences of a scientific or technical nature, at international meetings, in short, wherever the Dutch engineering world comes into contact with foreign colleagues".
Despite its advanced age, the Section for Oil and Gas Technology is very active: every year, the Section holds about seven lectures and organises an excursion. Interest in these events, which take place mainly in the KIVI NIRIA Building, has risen sharply in recent years. The Division represents some 8oo engineers, a number that increases every year. The Division is also involved in the World Petroleum Congress, which is held every three years.
Participants receive a more elaborate description with "joining instructions" during october.
