Description
The Oil and Gas Technology Department of the Royal Institute of Engineers KIVI NIRIA cordially invites you to the following evening lecture:
Highlights of the 19th World Petroleum Congress
"A World in Transition: Delivering Energy for Sustainable Growth"
Presented by:
Ir A.A.Holst, Secretary WPC Committee Netherlands and Member of the WPC Programme Committee
The 19th World Petroleum Congress was held in Madrid from 29 June to 3 July this year.
More than 4000 experts and executives representing the world's oil and gas industries participated in this congress.
The main issues discussed were: the supply of oil and gas in light of the strong increase in demand from countries in the Far East, in particular China, the uncertainties around the world's oil and gas reserves, the energy dependence of the developed world, in particular Europe, and the concerns about the impact of the enormous increase of the price of oil and gas of the past year.
The Congress also provided an overview of the most important technical developments in the industry, in both Upstream and Downstream.
KIVI NIRIA is the sponsor of the Dutch National Committee for World Petroleum Congresses.
Therefore it is a great pleasure to invite you for a series of summary presentations about the highlights of the Congress.
They will be chaired by Ir. A.A.Holst, who as a member of the WPC Programme Committee, participated in shaping the programme for Madrid.
Mr. Holst will present the highlights of the plenary sessions, the speeches of the "Captains of Industry", including the IEA and ministers of energy of OPEC countries.
He will be joined by two more speakers, to be announced shortly, who will summarise the main technical developments.
All presentations will be in English
