Science behind Groningen Gas Field
A successful symposium on the science of the Groningen Gas Field took place on Thursday 1 February 2018 at TU Delft, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences (CITG). With 300 registrations, the symposium was fully booked. The many speakers and a panel discussion made it a lively meeting organised by the KNGMG, PGK, SPE Netherlands and KIVI (oil and gas technology department). The afternoon had attracted a wide audience; including students, earth scientists with long experience in the industry, government officials and interested parties. The panel discussion with panellists Karin van Thienen-Visser, Berend Scheffers, Ipo Ritsema and Manuel Sinbutin started quietly but turned into a passionate discussion that continued during the closing drinks.
