Shell Technology Center Amsterdam
Excursion to Shell STCA was a combination of a lecture by Chris Laurens (VP Innovation and New Energy Technology) and a visit to the labs.
The number of participants was limited to 40 and the acitivity was fully booked within a couple of days.
The lecture was a sublime introduction to Energy Future and resulted in an interactive session with the presenter. The visit to the labs included a view of the Qatar GTL model, the pilot plant for CO2 flue gas washing and a demo at the 3D printer.
Description
The Oil and Gas Technology Department of the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) cordially invites you to the following excursion:
Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam (STCA)
Developing innovative technologies is the core of what Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam (STCA) does. With the increasing demand for energy and pressure on the climate, the importance of innovative technological solutions is increasing.
In recent decades, STCA has grown into a leading institute and one of Shell's three main research centres worldwide. Innovative technologies have been developed in Amsterdam for more than 100 years.
In STCA, more than 1,000 people from different fields work together to improve products and production processes in the fields of oil, gas and chemistry. Because of the CO2 issue, they also conduct research into affordable alternative energy solutions such as the use of biomass and CO2 storage. Shell aims for cleaner, more efficient and safer products and processes and faster practical application of innovations.
In addition, STCA staff support Shell's partners and customers, enabling them to improve their performance.
40 places are available for this excursion. First come, first serve. During the tour, wearing safety clothing is required. When registering, please provide your clothing and shoe size so that STCA can prepare safety clothing.
