Over the last decade LNG has become a truly global commodity and the industry will continue its rapid expansion in the years ahead.
On the one hand, a large number of LNG plants will come onstream, substantially increasing LNG supply globally. On the other hand, we may see global demand doubling in the next decade. In order to capture value of such increase on both sides of the supply-demand balance, Shell is driving growth through innovation across the integrated gas value chains and is diversifying its targeted markets.
A good example is using LNG for the transport sector. Therefore, the list of key innovation areas for Shell covers both technology and commercial innovation.
