The role of a grid operator in the energy transition
Delivering renewable energy: from offshore wind farms to households and industry
The countries around the North Sea including the Netherlands are going to substantially increase their wind energy capacity in the coming decades. Capacity should reach 65 gigawatts by 2030 and 150 gigawatts by 2050. A substantial part of this will take place in the Netherlands and Germany.
To transport all this new renewable energy to industry and households in the Netherlands and Germany, TenneT's role as TSO is very important. We are very proud to have found Marco Kuijpers, Director offshore TenneT willing to give us a lecture on TenneT's role and challenges in the energy transition in the Netherlands and Germany.
Besides the enormous challenges facing TenneT, Marco will also discuss appealing examples of a number of offshore projects he and his team are responsible for.
