Mark Bello new chairman KIVI HT&ET

We would like to share with you that as of 1 September Mark Bello has taken over the chairmanship of the section from Daan Velter

Daan joined the department's board as treasurer in 2016 and has been chairman since 2020. In that past period, during corona, maintaining the continuity of actvities was a challenge, but still managed to organise a number of virtual events, bring back physical events as soon as possible and strengthen the connection with students. Since 2022, Daan has been Managing Director of the Eemshaven Terminal and spends half the week in the far North. So this was one of the reasons to hand over the baton to Mark.

Mark joined the board two years ago as treasurer. He recently left Jacobs Solutions after 30 years in the management of the organisation and joined the Schiphol Group as an advisor for the capital investment programme.

Daan joined the board of the department in 2016 as treasurer and became chairman in 2020. In the past period, during covid, keeping the continuity of activities was a challenge, but he was successful in organising some virtual events, in bringing back the physical events as soon as this was possible again, as well as strengthening the relationships with students and student associations. Since 2022 Daan is Managing Director of the Eemshaven Terminal and therefore spends most of the week in the Groningen area. This was one of the reasons to hand the baton to Mark.
