Designing Meta Products
Description
In the coming years, the web will continue to grow and expand into new aspects of our
lives. Web-based products, services, locations, knowledge and people will create new connections and interactions, forming new networks called Meta Products. In these smart product-service networks, the web plays a central role; it is the flow of information that feeds the entire network. Examples include Nike+, FedEx SenseAware and Fitbit.
Menno Huisman, creative director at design agency Booreiland, is co-author of the book 'Meta Products
- Meaningful Design For Our Connected World'. The book talks about the Meta Products phenomenon, but
also presents Network Focused Design as a design method, suitable for anyone who wants to design
successful solutions for our 'connected world'.
During the lecture, Menno will talk about the phenomenon itself, changing design processes and the implications of all this for design teams. All this with the help of many examples and cases.
