Engineering Plastics
Description
During his career at Pekago Covering Technology, Thijs van Schijndel specialised in injection moulding product development and optimisation of plastic parts. His KIVI College will be about the balance between budget, manufacturability and planning: how do you optimise within the possibilities, and what exactly does 'optimisation' mean?
Currently, Thijs is Sr. Creative Engineer at ACE, where he is responsible for the translation from concept to functional design of various products; he worked on a new security camera from Bosch, among others. How is a complex electrical and mechanical working product designed down to the smallest details so that everything eventually works? And why, for instance, is 3D printing nowadays indispensable in this phase of final engineering? These cases will also be discussed!
Participation in the lecture is free of charge. Dinner costs € 20 (main course incl. two drinks), payable in cash.
If you want to join us for dinner, please let us know in connection with Se7en's planning and reservation of the number of tables.
