Four-dimensional interactive globes/ALV
Download the 2015 financial presentation under 'Documents'.
Description
Globe4D is an interactive four-dimensional installation in the shape of a sphere, designed by Rick Companje. A planet is projected onto the sphere. By turning the sphere itself, or the rim around it, the information on the sphere and rim changes: for example, a user can view the physical transformation of the earth from 18 million years ago to the current situation. While studying, Rick developed the idea, then set up Globe4D as a company. His creative design has won several awards, the Globe4D has already been exhibited in several European countries, as well as in the United States, Korea and India. In his lecture, Rick Companje will explain the development and production process of such a globe, its various applications and product features.
Prior to dinner, the General Assembly (ALV) of the Department of Industrial Design will take place from 5pm. If you wish to participate in the ALV, please mention this when registering.
