If we can make systems with waste, we can also design them without
Marjanne Cuypers is founder of biodesign studio BlueBlocks and external lecturer in bio-design at the international bachelor's programme in Industrial Design Engineering.
With BlueBlocks, she experiments and designs with bio-based materials. Unused residual streams from the agro-food sector or other natural raw materials are used as a basis.
Currently, BlueBlocks is developing bioplastics from (North) seaweed and hardboard from the remaining plant fibres. Marjanne will talk about her career and the design and development process of new bio-based materials for the built environment.
