Our national coffee addiction accounts for some 12 billion cups of coffee a year. Often, the coffee grounds from all these cups end up in the regular waste bin. A shame!

Lisanne talks about how Coffee Based takes care of the collection and processing of coffee grounds. She takes us through the recipes and techniques involved in processing coffee into products.

Lisanne graduated from TU Delft in 2010 and then founded VerdraaidGoed; a design agency that develops products using residual materials as raw materials. In addition to retuning train time signs, mailboxes and talking posts, for example, VerdraaidGoed developed more and more knowledge about coffee grounds. In 2017, the spin-off Coffee Based was established, which is now making good progress - also internationally.
