Description

Alfred Yoakim is director of R&D at Nespresso and has been working on the development of the Nespresso system since 1986. He will talk about the origins of the concept, its development, the many facets of the R&D process and the philosophy behind its success. After the lecture, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and chat in an informal setting. Performing language: English.
The maximum number of participants is 75, so register quickly.

There are those who call him the father of the portioned coffee system, a title he is too modest to accept. He prefers to refer to his achievements simply as belonging to his job - a job, he reminds us, that is part of that of a large team, something that Alfred Yoakim considers of paramount importance. "No teamwork, no innovation", is his creed. Yoakim and his team have been working ceaselessly on the development of the Nespresso System since 1986.

Under his leadership, Nespresso has filed no fewer than 70 patents, including the second generation of capsules, the "Pelican" concept machine, the "Balcony" capsule insertion system, and the compact brewing unit at the core of every Nespresso machine. In 2006, he was honoured by Nestlé and Nespresso with the Innovation Award for his achievements and his tireless efforts to push the boundaries of perfection ever further

Room open: 19:30. After the lecture, there will be an opportunity to chat over a drink.

Prior to the lecture, it will be possible to eat at a reduced price at the restaurant "Snel" in the Lloyd hotel around 18:00: 15 euros for a main course and drink. You must sign up for this when registering. You pay for the food on the spot.

The Lloyd Hotel is easily accessible by public transport and there is a car park in the street.
