Service Design literally means designing services; within HaskoningDHV, Service Design is used as an enabler for the digital transition. This transition is deployed in three areas; the digital way of working, digitising and automating repetitive work and offering digital services to customers with new business models. Together with, among others, data analysts, ux designers, domain experts and, of course, customers, new propositions in the transition are designed in co-creation. Various tools and methods are applied and implemented through an innovation tunnel and improvement sprints.

Roos Tigchelaar gained experience at the HU lectorate co-design (design researcher), at ING bank (service design), and is currently working at Royal HaskoningDHV as a service designer, innovation and digital services department. This lecture will focus on the role of service design in (digital) transformation, with case studies of the tools, methods and experimentation applied within Royal HaskoningDHV. Roos will talk about the associated learnings, the failures, the successes, and about herself, how she, via Denmark, landed back in the Dutch design world.
