The universal value of sketching: of 'things' and 'narratives'
Jan Willem Hoftijzer is lecturer and coordinator of drawing and visualisation education IDE at TU Delft. In this lecture, he wants to shed light on the meaning that drawing had and has now. But also why we draw and why not.
He will then discuss the broadening of interest in sketching, both within and outside the field of Industrial Design.
This ranges from mechanical engineering and creativity techniques, to visualising strategies, relationships and stories.
Finally, he will take us through how these developments have found a place within the curriculum and visualisation curriculum at TU Delft and international collaborations.
This event will only take place OFFLINE on Wednesday 2 April 2025.
This event will be held at Se7en restaurant. You are welcome to join us for a preliminary dinner from 18h - 19.30h (own cost of €25 at start), please indicate this at least three days in advance when registering. Participation in the lecture is free, 7.30pm to +/- 9pm.
