Participating in Fieldlab 2021: from application to completion.

SMEs can submit a project proposal to TU Delft's Fieldlab UPPS for projects in which, through collaboration, knowledge is developed around the design process and production of (ultra)personalised products and services. How does this work and what are the conditions?
Application and conditions
- The company draws up a project plan (appendix 2) including budget (appendix 3) in consultation with Fieldlab UPPS. In addition to the exact assignment, this will clarify the role of the company and how the contribution will be contributed by the company.
- The company will finance at least 50% of the total project costs through payment or 'in kind' contribution in the form of hours, at a maximum hourly rate of €60/hour including VAT.
- A maximum of €15,000 per collaboration project including VAT (target amount) is contributed by CLICKNL, in consultation possible up to a maximum amount of €20,000. In practice, this will fund the Fieldlab's work.
- The Fieldlab UPPS team assesses whether a project matches the objectives and gives a go or no go, in order of receipt, within a month.
- Prior to the start of the project, a cooperation agreement (appendix 4) must be signed between TU Delft and the company; the project plan, including budget (appendix 3) is attached to the contract. The Fieldlab has a limited number of hours (max 2x1-1.5 hours) available to help think about the project plan in advance.
- In case of a cash contribution by the participating company, the invoice will be sent at the start of the project. And should be paid before completion of the project.
- The company keeps financial and time records and provides a management statement (see appendix 5) immediately after the completion of the project.
The company provides a report (appendix 7) within one month after the completion of the project, which is delivered to the Fieldlab contact person together with the cost account and management statement. - The results (approach, outcomes) are shared within and outside the Fieldlab. Also by the company. Participation in at least 1 Meet-UPPS meeting is required.
- About IP, separate agreements are made per project in the agreement
- The company must not have previously received funding for the same work.
NB Project proposals can be submitted until 31 December 2021, by emailing them fully completed to m.k.idema@tudelft.nl. Work must be completed by 1 December 2022.
