Description

In cooperation with KIVI NIRIA's Department of Engineers Without Borders and a number of (former) students of study association Paradoks, a meeting will be organised on development cooperation and all kinds of medical technology. We have noticed that there is a lot of interest in projects across borders from various quarters. Although several Paradoks members have already been involved in projects in the third world, it remains difficult to think about what exactly can be done as an extension of the study and to connect with the right parties.

This meeting is organised to make a first step towards a network of (former) students BMT, TG or other interested parties and bodies or individuals involved in development cooperation.

Three speakers from the field will come and share their own experiences. These are Emile Janssen, rehabilitation doctor and also former tropical doctor; a volunteer from the Liliane Fund who will talk about current techniques on the one hand and the minimum needs of disabled people on the other, and a speaker from Fontys who will give a presentation on medical technology in hospitals in developing countries

The (provisional) programme will be as follows:
16:00 Reception
16:15 Start
16:30 First speaker
17:00 Second speaker
17:30 Short break
17:45 Third speaker
18:15 Closing and discussion with drinks: what should we do now with BMTOS?

Register now, come and listen to the personal experiences of the speakers and try to form a view on medical technology and development cooperation together with us.
