Description

'Project seeks advice', seeking advice on:

1. how to collect and store rainwater?
2. how to apply the seeds of the Moringa oleifera in purifying rainwater into drinking water?
(see e.g. www.deutsch-aethiopischer-verein.de/Gate_Moringa.pdf or http://www.biotech-weblog.com/50226711/seeds_from_moringa_oleifera_can_be_used_for_ water_treatment.php or http://www.science20.com/news_articles/moringa_oleifera_tree_provides_lowcost_water_
purification_developing_world)

Whereby answers to the sub-questions will lead to design and construction of a low-tech system with which to ensure the drinking water needs of a group of about 50 people? There is 400 mm of rain/year in the area in Tanzania where the system is to be applied. The drinking water requirement is 300 l., that of 'grey' water 600 l. per 24-hour period. Using gutters is not an option and that of electricity preferably not.

SINTAN will first give some brief background information, and then we will brainstorm and discuss the possibilities interactively with attendees.
