Network of water engineers
KIVI's Land Use and Water Management Section forms a network of water engineers with a more management-oriented slant. In doing so, it serves as a platform for the exchange of knowledge about and experiences with engineering in Land Use and Water Management.
The department plays an active role in the discussion on the need for technical knowledge and applications in water management. Working groups give substance to this.
Positioning the Dutch water engineer
A key theme is clarifying the role of the Dutch water engineer across the social spectrum. It involves technology promotion, education and having a voice in politics. The board is working on an adequate positioning in water management in the Netherlands based on the platform function within KIVI. To carry out this role properly, the board coordinates and cooperates with network organisations such as Nederlands Waternetwerk (KVWN/NVA), RIONED, Waterland.net, Waterforum online, the 'water magazines', the KIVI Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Sustainable Technology and the regional department.
