Afsluitdijk Wadden Center excursion
Description
On 11 September 2018, the Land Use and Water Management Department of the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) is organising a fascinating excursion at the Afsluitdijk Wadden Centre.
This newly completed and recently opened Wadden Centre is a landmark building and is a virtual gateway to the Unesco World Heritage Wadden Sea. Several fascinating stories are told about the origins, management and future of the Afsluitdijk, the IJsselmeer region and the yet-to-be-constructed Vismigration Pier. Against this interactive background, visitors will not only get a lively picture of the area, but also of the many hydraulic engineering and other innovative projects that will be realised here in the coming years in cooperation with De Nieuwe Afsluitdijk.
During this excursion, we will deal with a current and technically administrative case. Naturally, there will be ample opportunity to explore on your own. We look forward to hearing what you come up with!
Participation in this excursion does not require a specific background, but having some technical and spatial insight is a plus!
We warmly recommend this excursion to you, and hope to see you there!
