Do&Durf is the competition in which you get the chance to think without boundaries. You have the ideas; we offer you the stage to share them with the engineering industry... if you dare.


WE CHALLENGE YOU

Doe&Durf is an initiative of JongNLingenieurs, the youth association within Royal NLingenieurs. With the Doe&Durf competition, we want to show that the young engineer has superpowers to develop creative and innovative solutions that contribute to today's societal challenges. Every year, we challenge you to work in teams to come up with an ingenious idea for a predetermined theme. From pitch to product; we help you to further develop your innovative solution. To this end, we organise two workshops, so that you can enter the finals with confidence. Will you also participate this year?

DO&DARE COMPETITION 2020

This year, we are challenging you on the following theme: Living with water; which solution do you come up with?

Traditionally, the Netherlands has been a country fighting against water. At the same time, water security during hot and dry summers is starting to become an increasing problem. In short, we need to adapt our country from fighting against water to handling water well and efficiently.

With the transition to dealing with water efficiently, the areas around the dykes may look different in the future, we may discover new purification techniques that improve our water quality, and we will use water even more efficiently in materials and buildings. Which solution do you come up with?

TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE AND PARTICIPATE

Because it is a cool experience anyway; if your team is nominated for the jury prize, you will present your idea or solution during an appealing event of Royal NLingenieurs. And of course you will gain knowledge, learn new skills and enrich your network. But we give you a few more reasons to enter:

You put yourself, your company and the entire engineering industry on the map.
Knowledge sharing knows no boundaries and we like to encourage cooperation within the industry. Non-members of Royal NLingenieurs can also participate if they form a team with members of Royal NLingenieurs.
There are virtually no frameworks within the assignment, so you can comfortably take a big step outside your comfort zone

KEY DETAILS AT A GLANCE:

  • Registration for Doe&Durf 2020 is open from 16 July 2020.

  • Entries must be in by noon on Friday 4 September 2020.

  • The final is scheduled for 19 November 2020.

  • A team consists of minimum 3 and maximum 5 participants up to 36 years old.

  • At least two team members work at a member company of Royal NLingenieurs.

  • A member company may enter several teams.

  • Entry fee € 300,- per team.
  • Additional contribution finalists is € 300.
