Description

Within linear potential flow methods, the Rankine source code FATIMA, originally developed at TU Delft, offers the most complete description of the wave field around a ship oscillating in waves. With these methods, an insight can be created in the nature of added resistance of ships in waves. During this lecture, Reint Dallinga will highlight the theory underlying the calculation method, experiences from systematic hull form variations and comparisons with results from seakeeping tests.
