It was a successful evening as far as KIVI Department of Mechanical Engineering is concerned. With an excellent turnout, very informative masterclass and pleasant interaction in the room. Thank you for your interest and coming to The Hague!

Engineers are bursting with ideas. Exceptional ideas deserve not only to be applied, but also to be captured and protected. Of course we want to protect our ideas. But what does that entail? And what does it deliver? This evening, we delved into the world of ideas, patents and patents with our speaker.

Our speaker was Hans Hutter is both a Dutch and European patent attorney. Hans has a very extensive technical background, owns NLO and specialises in providing strategic intellectual property advice. A more detailed profile of our speaker can be found here.

Throughout the masterclass, there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The evening started with an optional bread meal and ended with drinks.

This evening, our speaker will take you into the world of ideas, patents and patents. And as an engineer, you will find out what tools are available to best protect your idea.

  • How does the process work?
  • What are the steps involved?
  • What protection do you get as the owner of a patent or patent?
  • How do you effect patent protection?
  • What does it yield?

During the master class, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We will conclude the evening with drinks.


Some practical matters:

  • This is a physical meeting (no digital livestream);
  • We can only admit participants who have registered via the website;
  • You are welcome to join our departmental committee for a bread meal beforehand. Please indicate your requirements when registering. Booking a bread meal is no longer possible for practical reasons.
